Brave? Or Boring? Embracing a fad or a new genre?

I’m gonna go with boring fad, but hey, that’s me. I won’t get too mad though. Remember when all those great metal bands recorded like one ‘nu-metal’ album in the late 90’s then we all forgave them when they went back to their original sound? Hopefully that happens again.
